| The Sebel Cairns has it all |
As we approach the entrance of the Sebel Cairns we are directed to the grand porte cohere entrance. Our first thoughts were, we had come across some glamorous awards night, with all the cameras and people everywhere in their finest get up. Were we in the wrong place?
Or if it is the right place, I need a little more than the lip gloss and beach dress that I was wearing!
The attentive Sebel staff were quick to assure us that we were actually in the right place and that it was the local Cairns Senior School dinner dance.
Gee, things have changed since my senior dance, wearing Mum’s pearls and a recycled bridesmaid dress from a cousins wedding. We are talking serious Versace on some of those young ladies!
The Sebel Cairns is a hive of activity as it accommodates conferences, weddings, cocktail functions and even Glamorous Senior School dinners, yet you don’t feel the intrusion on your stay with the cleverly designed hotel separating the special events rooms to the Hotel Guest accommodation and leisure facilities.
Walking into the stunning, spacious lobby, you instantly appreciate the $5 million refurbishment the Hotel has received. With marble floors and stunning bright pink lounges, European décor, you would almost think you are in Dubai or Milan, the attention to detail featuring a 3 metre Chandeliers cascading down from the ceiling enticing you to study every detail of their elegant design.
The Sebel Cairns staff, once again did not disappoint, with their warm smile and easy going yet attentive manner, they instantly impressed me.
We arrive in our very comfortable and refurbished Premium bedroom, we are spoilt with a spectacular view from our balcony. Looking over the changing landscape of the esplanade and the bright lights of the Cairns casino, we start to plan our evening of fine dining and time on the roulette wheel James Bond style.
We want to make the most of our second last day in the gorgeous heat, so we venture down stairs to the 3rd floor where we are pleasantly surprised to see a spacious and enjoyable pool, which surpasses many other properties in the same vicinity and our expectations of the Sebel Cairns. The completely new generous decking has enough banana lounges to go around, ensuring every weary traveler a lovely spot in the sun.
The Sebel Cairns has emerged from a major refurbishment delivering the experience to match the expectation. Perfect location, comfortable luxurious rooms, and a fabulous day spa (Mii Spa) to top it all off, this is definitely one location to include in your next Tropical North holiday.
