Metung Holiday Village

Metung – the name is as unique as this sleepy fishing village. 

I had the pleasure of visiting Metung a few weeks ago on my way through Gippsland in Victoria.  I had been lured by the appealing website images of the Metung Holiday Village website who are also advertisers on the Seniorstays website www.seniorstays.com.au

On arrival into Metung Holiday Village I was impressed with the cleanleness, uncluttered, modern accommodation and facilities that greeted me!  Not to mention the friendly manager and owner Garry Avage. 

Paved roads throughout the Holiday Village also impressed me – NO DUST!!!

The villas are brand new and surrounded by established well maintained gardens.  From my first glimpse – it wasn’t hard to work out that the caretakers of this park - excelled in their jobs!  The facilities included an inviting swimming pool, and private bbq’s on the verandah’s of the villas.  The bathroom’s were spotless and modern and the bedrooms had plenty of cupboard space or draws to hide our bags and clothes. The Villa’s also come with complimentary tea & coffee facilities for you to enjoy on arrival without having to run out to the shops straight away.  Aus Star TV and fully self contained units & linen supplied really helps you enjoy a relaxing holiday! 

An easy stroll to the Metung Village from the villa’s was delightful and by the time we arrived into the village we had worked up an appetite and thirst.  This  was satisfied quickly at the Metung Hotel that has been recently updated. 

On the way home we decided to take another road back to the villa’s along the boardwalk that hugs the lake and the Marina.  We enjoyed the birdlife, and watched other holiday makers enjoying leisure time on the their boats or fishing off the pier.

 I was reluctant to leave Metung and the villa’s the next day as I could of easily spent a fortnight there for some much needed r & r.  Metung Holiday Village will certainly be on my list for my next holiday to Gippsland!  And I would recommend the villa's to anybody who is thinking of travelling to Gippsland soon.
