Giving you a taste of the diverse cultures and geography that is South America, from the steamy Amazon Basin to the cool heights of the Altiplano. This is a moderately active trip and you’ll enjoy it more if you are at least of average fitness and prepared to be active. You’ll be responsible for moving your own luggage from your hotel to taxis and transport. Apart from the Inca Trail option, there is moderate walking involved on most days and all of the Inca sites have lots of steps. This can be a bit tougher with the altitude in areas like Cuzco, Puno and La Paz. Be prepared to travel a on a variety of transport from planes to motorized canoes, some local buses and private mini vans. The buses are large comfortable coaches with reclining seats. Accommodation is simple, cosy and comfortable with en-suite rooms and hot water. Hotels are chosen for their safety, location, ambience and friendly staff. There may be a multi-share night (triple or quad) at the home stay on Lake Titicaca. If you enjoy travel less ordinary and look forward to unique experiences, this will be the trip for you.
